The naturally strong bond between a mother and her baby is enhanced by breastfeeding. A breastfeeding woman recognises baby’s needs much easier and learns the signals he sends much faster.
The natural sucking instinct is a clear sign of baby’s dependency from a mother. The newborns have the instinct of sucking and searching for mother’s breast already after 15 minutes from the moment of birth. Mother’s milk is not only the source of nutritional elements but also contains protective antibodies that build baby’s immunologic system. Breastmilk is also very light for a baby, decreases occurrence of colic or flatulence. In accordance with the recent studies, breastfeeding of a little one should not be stopped even during illness of a mother.
The natural feeding requires a particular care of woman’s body, especially of breast and their milk producing glands. Breast overflow caused by improper feeding can lead to inflammations and even milk loss.
