No more night feeding

advice in category: junior

A lot of mums wonder when to stop feeding their babies at night. If you haven’t decided to do so before, it’s time to try. A baby over a year old has a well-developed digestive system, so not eating at night won’t be inconvenient for it. In addition, digestion at night is much slower, so it’s no good overfeeding your baby.

During the first nights you can expect your baby to wake up to eat. This results from an established habit rather than hunger, so instead or normal food give it water. Your baby will soon learn that it’s not worth waking up just to drink water.
